| Some of my videos have been uploaded to YouTube, but lately I've started to use the ExposureRoom instead. Both sites offer a really good image quality and using their services saves on my server space! My Hitachi SD camera has recently been replaced by a Panasonic SD100 which gives high low-light sensitivity and up to 1920x1080HD. My second camera is a Fujifilm S2000 still camera that also provides a very useful 1280x720HD video mode, so all work can now be in widesceen HD format. I find the main interest is in editing; splicing in the second camera footage to add interest, adding special effects etc. A third camera would be really nice but there are limits on how many I can control at the same time. My quad core computer has the power to handle multiple overlays but I'm sometimes not sure I have the brainpower to match. On the left are links to a small selection of sample movies, click to open the video on the YouTube or ExposureRoom site. Visit http://www.ExposureRoom.com and search on 'vidgeo' for many more videos. Note that there are 3 video sizes to choose from on ExposureRoom, unless you have fast broadband it's best to choose LOW before playing. Videos are downloadable - the best way to view HD options. Feel free to use them as you wish but please add a hyperlink to this site if you are placing them or using them anywhere else. Exposure Room Downloading This is not as obvious as it might be. The following is the procedure to download an original video file: 1. Move mouse over the arrow on the right, below the video, wait until the box expands 2. Click on the MPG label 3. You have then to log in! Which means you have to sign up, annoying but free & relatively painless. Free Utility To transfer video from the SD100 to my computer I simply copy directly from the SD card into a new directly. I have a simple Perl utility that renames all .mts files as .m2t so they can be used immediately by my X3 video editor. Drop me an email if you would like a copy, with instructions on using it. |
