These images, created with an encaustic iron, have a surreal dimension. They are to some extent unpredictable as it's not possible to control the wax on the iron with any precision. Which is half the intrigue, you never really know how things will turn out! Images are usually on A6 encaustic card, with some A5 images. Handling the paper beyond A5 is tricky and so A5/A4 card work is usually done on the hotplate.
